The Negative Reviews

The Victory Vision is not without flaws and has had some negative reviews from old and current users. A few of these have been highlighted below for the benefit of the prospective buyer.

There have been many complaints about the initial assembly on the Victory. The instruction manual that comes with the bike is a generic one and not specific to the Vision. Many riders have suggested having the bike assembled professionally at your local bike store.

One unique problem on the Vision concerns the handlebars. A few users have mentioned that the handlebars loosen after every few rides, and need to be re-aligned every now and then.

Some users have experienced frequent flats while riding the Vision. This is because the strip that lines the inside of the rims is of a low quality, and does not offer much protection to the tubes. Consider replacing the strip to avoid flats.

A few customers have complained that the brakes on the Victory are cheap and inefficient. The front brake, in particular, may require some adjustment before it can function properly.

The Victory comes with stem shifters. A few customers have reported that they are not very convenient to use and need to be attached properly before using.

The saddle on the Vision is a bit narrow, and many users have replaced it for a more comfortable one.

The Vision is not as lightweight as some other road bikes. However, the added weight gives the bike extra sturdiness.

The Positive Reviews

The Victory Vision has gone down well with some of its users. Some of its pros are particularly worth mentioning.

Some users have praised the thick foam on the handlebars, which makes them quite comfortable to grip.

The Vision features a strong aluminium frame with solid welds and high-grade alloy bits. This makes the Vision quite sturdy, although slightly heavy.

Many customers have been appreciative of the Victory’s good after-sales service and support. Shipping damage, if any, is promptly handled by the company, and damaged/missing parts are generally re-shipped no questions asked.

Would we recommend the Victory Vision Men’s Road Bike to our readers?

No, and here is why:

While the Victory Vision is a fairly affordable and durable road bike that comes with good after-sales service, there are far too many niggling hassles that make it an underwhelming product. For starters, it is quite tiresome to assemble, especially if you’re never assembled a bike before. The handlebars tend to come loose after every few rides and the cheap lining between the tube and the rim can damage the tube, causing frequent flats. The brakes and shifters are difficult to adjust as well. The narrow saddle and the somewhat heavy frame further reduce the Victory’s practicality as an everyday road bike. Despite its price, the Victory Vision Men’s Road Bike fails to impress, and is not a recommended purchase. For a more trouble-free road bike, I suggest looking at the Schwinn RS 5.0 or the Giordano Libero. Both bikes are pricier, but offer a much smoother ride.
